MEET THE MAKER - ANDRIES VISSER

Andries Visser: Drummer, Educator & Craftsman

For those in the know, Andries Visser is widely regarded as one of SA’s foremost authorities on drumset education. He has been an active musician for the past 38 years in which he has toured the USA, Europe, UK, China, Czech Republic & Reunion Islands.

As a session drummer, Andries has to date recorded over 300 albums with artists such as: Louis Brittz, Riana Nel, Retief Burger, Khanyisa, Laurika Rough, Caleskie, Antonio Orrico, Mervis, Freddie Wessels, Raymond Cilliers and many others.

Furthermore, Andries has mentored many promising young students through the Groove Regulators full time drumset program from 2003 – 2016 in Johannesburg & Jeffrey’s Bay.

In addition to performing & teaching, Andries’ added passion lies in building quality handcrafted drums ranging from full drum sets to snares & cajons. Since 2017, AV Box has sold more than 130 units to musicians from all across the globe.

Quality Workmanship

Made from high quality AA single face 12mm Birch ply & assembled with a selection of 3mm imported and local veneers, making up the full voice of the T-Top’s crisp surface tones and mid range frequencies.

Incredible Natural Sound

The T-Top kicks out an unbelievable internal 110 Spl(Dbl) which enhances the mid and low frequencies that form the full E spectrum of tones required

Durable Materials

The T-Tops are completed with a double layer of satin wood sealer that provides an appealing finish and prevents any air leaks which could potentially affect the sound of the drum.

Accessories / Add-ons

Canvas carry bags are designed with a soft inlay material and are perfectly suited to protect the T-Tops integrity with added internal compartments for other percussion instruments. The external built-in pickup microphone can be fitted on order.
